Refoam kits include 1 oz. tubes of Devcon contact glue (or 1 oz. bottles of DAP Contact glue). Do not follow the instructions on the glue package and spread on both surfaces. Do not apply adhesive to the foam. We recommend contact glue for foam attachments. It costs more than bottles of the white water based latex (which should be used for sealing cloth surrounds) and can be more difficult to work with not allowing very much "wiggle" room, BUT not only is it the appropriate adhesive for this application, it has greater longevity and works with butyl surrounds and polypropylene cones. However, the choice is yours. If you prefer the white latex, please let us know. We will send it with your order instead of contact glue.

To see sizes and order refoam kits . . .

Measure your speaker before looking for sizes. Some speakers have an extra large outside frame that will throw off your measurements. You need to measure the inside and outside diameter of the original foam. You will need to remove the gaskets (if there is one) to do so. Determine the size of the foam you need. When evaluating, remember, the inside edge of the foam will overlap the outside edge of the cone by approximately 1/4" (0.250)
Do not remove the original dustcap on Infinity Bullet or Bose 802 or 901 woofers; center by eye, ear and feel.

Measure the Outside Dimensions and Inside Dimensions of your original foam:

Picture one on the left shows that this Infinity woofer has a outside frame dimension of approximately 9". This information does not affect the size of the refoam kit you will need so it is basically irrelevant.

Picture two shows that you need to remove any gaskets and measure the OD of the original foam. Even if your foam has already disintegrated, you should be able to see where it had been. The OD of the original foam in this picture is 7.5".

Picture three shows the measurement of the ID of the original foam. In this case. the foam is mounted under the cone but you can still estimate that the ID is approximately 5.5". The refoam kit needed for this speaker is the RFK8 Angle: OD 7.75, ID 5.50.

There is not always a perfect refoam kit available for your speaker. You need to adapt an available foam to fit your needs. Remember, in some cases, you might need to cut and seam a foam to fit a slightly smaller speaker or slightly stretch one to fit a lightly larger need. This picture shows a Cerwin-Vega 12" woofer.

In this picture the gasket has been removed and the OD of the foam is 11.5".

This picture size shows the ID of the foam is 8.75". The refoam kit needed for this speaker is the RFK12 RED, OD 11.50 and ID 8.75.
